The nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this thursday, setting off a race for the coveted trophy and most importantly… to the red carpet. The biggest names of the list include American Horror Story and Mad Men with 17 nominations each, followed by a personal favorite Downton Abbey and Hatfields & Mccoys with 15 Nominations each; and the comedy of the moment Modern Family was honored with 14 Nominations, competing head to head with the same number of nominations with Saturday Night Live, the oldest comedy in American Television History.
Familiar names honored, include strong performers such as Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, the amazing Sofía Vergara, Tina Fey, Archie Panjabi and the most stylish woman on Tv Christine Baranski. But newbies like Lena Dunham from Girls and the most adorkable woman on Tv Zooey Deschanel got their well-deserved nominations. This is going to be an extremely exciting Red Carpet as the most stylish women of the big screen and red Carpet queens – usually seen on the Academy Awards Season – Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman were honored for television movies and guest roles. As expected, the once a critics favorite and Emmy-Darling, "Glee" did not get any nomination on the big categories except for Dot-Marie Jones' in the guest star category, let's hope we can see Leah Michelle on the Red Carpet that day as she is always someone exciting to see.
I am really excited to see the magnificent cast of American Horror Story nominated, specially Connie Britton who is a personal favorite since Friday Night Lights. But the biggest surprise came by the hand of one of the best Dramas of the moment… the incredibly addictive Revenge, that did not get a single nomination, an unquestionably big snubbed, specially Madeleine Stowe and her breath-taking portrayal of the fascinating yet intimidating Victoria Grayson. The awards show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be telecast live, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
