Seeing that today is National Ginger Snap Day, I felt that it was only fitting that I post one of the most popular Ginger Snap recipes in the nation. Most of you are familiar with Blue Ribbon Baker Marjorie Johnson from Robbinsdale, Minnesota. She's appeared on Jay Leno, Dr. OZ, Kare11, & Twin Cities Live recently but did you know that she was put on several red carpets during award season to interview celebrities and hand out her homemade ginger snap cookies? Helen Mirran and Nicole Kidman enjoyed them while Wolfgang Puck tried to hide putting them back into her basket. Many viewers caught this treasonous act and literally called him on the "carpet" for not trying Marjorie's famous cookies.
No one has a resume like Marjorie and I am so fortunate to call her one of my good friends. She has amazing energy and is one of the best bakers I have ever met since my grandmother Thelma Anderson.
I hope you enjoy her recipe. It's a wonderful way to start July 2012!! JML
