A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been proven to be brighter than the likes of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.
Dr Challoner's Grammar School pupil Amri Shakir, of Berkeley Avenue, Chesham, recently received the results of a Mensa Intelligence Test he took which revealed he has an IQ of 162 - something only one per cent of Britain's population has.
Amri, who is a middle child, said: "I was quite happy and excited. I wasn't expecting it, it was a bit of a shock. The test was reasonably hard, harder than I thought."
His parents, learning disability consultant Rehana, and general practitioner Hussian, both 45, decided to put Amri forward for the test after realising he was talented from a young age and wanting to find out exactly how clever he is.
Mrs Shakir said: "We were really surprised.
"We knew he was talented but we did not know he'd have an IQ that high. We're so proud of him."
The IQ score is just one of several of Amri's achievements. He has just completed a GCSE maths course and is now studying the subject at A-level, and excelled at Chesham Prep School, eventually being offered a 20 per cent academic scholarship at The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School.
He has also achieved grade four in guitar and piano, was the scouts county orienteering champion for 2012 and is working towards his Queen's Scouts Gold.
He plays cricket for Chiltern District U12, A Team U12 at Dr Challoner's Grammar School and A Team U12 at Chesham Cricket Club as well playing for Chesham Rugby Club and golf at Chartridge Golf Club.
His parents said Amri is a normal child who is caring and popular among his friends.
Amri, who was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, added: "I try to make time to do things most days, but I do study hard."
Amri would like to follow in the path of his parents' profession and become a neurosurgeon in the future.
Mensa state that the average IQ score is 100.
