Zac Efron was left terrified on the set of his new movie “The Paperboy” by co-star Nicole Kidman’s sex appeal. The former “High School Musical” star admits he was looking for a project with depth and risk – and he found it in abundance in Lee Daniels’ steamy new film.
The actor admits he “enjoyed” being seduced by the Moulin Rouge actress, 45, during one of their romps. But there was one explicit scene, which also involved co-star John Cusack, that left him stunned. Zac’s Jack Jansen watches on as co-star John’s character does a sex act in his underwear after being turned on by Nicole’s character Charlotte Bless.
The young star tells Black Book magazine it was a very intense shoot: “That was the first day of filming and Nicole just completely went for it. She was telling everyone ‘I’m bringing my A-game. What do you have?’ I’ve never been so scared in my life, but that moment affirmed this movie was everything I set out to do.”
Zac has previously told how spending so much time in his underpants during filming took him out of his comfort zone – but added that it was worth it.
He said: “The love scenes with Nicole Kidman were the highlight of my life. Every scene felt like I was in Moulin Rouge.”
The flick – which has no UK release date yet – is an adaptation of Pete Dexter’s novel of the same name. Matthew McConaughey and songbird Macy Gray also appear in it. [Source]
