Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum ramped adult a hiss Sunday night on a Emmy Awards red runner that already had TV’s biggest stars articulate about only how prohibited they were since of a breathless temperatures in Los Angeles.
Vergara wore a teal-colored robe by Zuhair Murad with beads all over and a cutout retreat restraint neckline, and Klum chose a seafoam-colored robe by Alexandre Vauthier with plunging Vs from each angle on a top, super-high slits and not many left in a middle.
They helped fuel a trend toward bright, confidant tone that was also ragged by profound Claire Danes in strapless daffodil-yellow Lanvin, Julianne Moore in a long-sleeve, elastic robe and Nicole Kidman in a blue-on-white-beaded gown. All brought bonafide conform credit to a Nokia Theatre, though they weren’t indispensably a favorites.
Hayden Panettiere plucked her sari-style Marchesa true from a runway, and Gennifer Goodwin’s flame-red-on-sheer-champagne strapless robe by Monique Lhuillier announced there’s a new era of character stars to reckon with.
Goodwin and Klum were early favorites of Louise Roe, Glamour editor-at-large and “Fashion Star” host. She wasn’t crazy about Elisabeth Moss’ printed, peplumed Dolce Gabbana gown, that she pronounced had a small too many “fussy detail.”
And, Roe said, Emily VanCamp could have left edgier than her still-lovely J. Mendel robe with pleats and hints of voluptuous perfect fabric. “She’s immature and has a torpedo body, she could have played around a bit more.”
Zooey Deschanel had a manicure with small TV sets on her thumbnails – maybe a kind of thing “E!” had in mind for a mani-cam that had stars walking their fingers down a little red carpet.
Celebrities build their conform repute mostly from a red carpet, Lhuillier said, and they’ll impact trends for color, conformation and embellishments.
Lhuillier pronounced Emmy gowns were already in a works progressing this month when she presented her many new catwalk collection – one in that she announced “the ballgown is gone.” Instead, she focused her full-length dresses in charmer and other sleeker hemlines.
Not everybody examination TV will need a robe in a entrance weeks or months, though when they do, they’ll mostly spin to a brands they hear about during a Emmys, Oscars or Grammys, Lhuillier said. “That’s what a red runner does for a association like mine.”
There’s always someone who takes a high-fashion risk on a Emmy red carpet. It was Gwyneth Paltrow and her belly-baring, lead edging series final year. It wasn’t a vicious favorite, though now – in review – it seemed like a hint for many of a stream runway trends.
