On September 27, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will unveil a wax figure of Steve Jobs to commemorate the first anniversary of the innovator’s death. Jobs will of course be dressed in his trademark outfit – a black turtleneck, Levi 501 jeans, and New Balance sneakers.
“The pose, inspired by photographs taken at the shoot for his famous Fortune Magazine front cover in 2006, shows Jobs with arms casually folded in front of him, head tilted slightly with a warm smile,” Tussauds announced in a release.
Like all Madame Tussauds figures, the Job piece took hundreds of thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours to complete. Artists create Tussauds figures by hand, with sculptors using the same tools and methods first employed by Madame Tussaud herself over two hundred years ago.
After a two-month stint in Hong Kong, the Jobswill head to Madame Tussauds Bangkok and Madame Tussauds Shanghai. The Apple co-founder will join the likes of Barack Obama, Nicole Kidman, and Jackie Chan at the Hong Kong museum.
