In one of the scenes, the 45-year-old Kidman urinates on 24-year-old Efron.
The film is about a woman (Kidman) who enlisted the aid of a journalist ( and his brother (Zac Efron) to exit the murderer (John Cusack) she loves on death row.
Talking about the Kidman’s role, Daniles said, “I said to Nicole:” Look, if you can not do your makeup alone on this film, you can not make this film because you do not understand the character.’ This girl, she’s trash. When you think of Nicole Kidman, we do not think about it. I thought she was going to take her legs around his neck, but no, she contacted me.”
Kidman pulled off the role so well that Daniels is already discussing about a future collaboration with her. “Nicole has dropped,” said Daniels. “But I’ll tell you what else she did, she sent champagne to the team. She was on the ground. Helped in the cafeteria. It was part of the team. ‘
About Efron, Daniels acknowledged that he was not his favorite at the time of casting of the film. “It was not my first choice,” said Daniels. “I still thought of him as a wise boy, who just Disney … but I pushed him and he took the vague. I think this is his best work, no doubt. I think it is Zac that one has never seen before.”
“Zac had a smile on his face,” said Daniels. “If you look closely, you see that smile.” Paperboy will be out October 17 in French theaters.
