While people continue to question John Travolta’s sexuality, Zac Efron responds to the gay rumors that have plagued him since the start of his career. He remarked, “I don’t like to live in fear about things like rumors and backlash to begin with — that’s the way I was raised — but I just can’t [...]
His breakthrough role being that of High School Musical‘s Troy Bolton, Zac understands people making a connection: “I think the gay audience related to my character Troy, because it really was a story of embracing who you are, no matter how different you might be, and not being afraid to show it. That’s a universal theme for everyone, but it specifically resonated with the gay community, and I felt very proud of that.” Embracing the support and acknowledging what it has done for his career, he also states, “After High School Musical and Hairspray, I’ve always felt embraced by the gay community, and I feel incredibly grateful and honored.”
Zac may finally escape questioning with his latest role in The Paperboy, which includes at least one extremely racy scene with co-star Nicole Kidman. ~Morgan Bates

September 13, 2012 9:23 AMGood for him. I mean, in John’s case I get why the allegations may casue a problem, legally, financially, with his family, but Zac doesn’t have a family of his own yet, so it’s not like these rumours will destroy his relationship. There’s nothing wrong with being gay, or straight or anything in-between and I’m glad to see a star like Zac present that as his viewpoint. Who cares if people are calling you gay? Why does that even matter?
